Despite playing at home against Moscow's "CSKA" in the Champions League group stage, London's "Arsenal" manager Arsene Wenger stated that the team played perhaps the best match under his leadership and could have won by a large margin.
"Arsenal" created numerous opportunities - the London team even had 24 shots on goal, but neither their leader Thierry Henry, nor Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, or Tomas Rosicky, who found himself in front of an empty goal from three meters away, could direct the ball past the goalkeeper.
"We played excellently but failed to capitalize on our chances in the beginning of the match, and now the next matches will be difficult. We should have won by five, six, or even seven goals. People may feel disappointed with the result, but I believe the team played exceptionally well - perhaps the best in the Champions League since I've been here," Wenger pondered.
"Arsenal" awaits their next match at the end of November at home against "Hamburg," who lost at home to "Porto" and did not earn any points. In the potentially decisive match of the last round, the "Gunners" will play against "Porto" away.
