Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger plans to acquire two world-class players this summer. According to the latest information, the Frenchman in London especially wants to see the young Brazilian super talent Robinho.
Last season, the "Gunners" finished second in the English championship, trailing the victorious other London club by 12 points.
"I will return us to the first place in the league table by implementing plans that I have been working on for a long time," said A. Wenger. "Those plans include the desire to acquire two world-class players to make us stronger."
It is almost certain that Arsenal will soon be supplemented by midfielder Aleksandr Hleb. Various reports also mention that Wenger has made a £14 million offer to the "Santos" club for Robinho.
For several months now, Robinho, also known as the new Pele, has been linked to Real Madrid, but now the player's agent Juan Figer has stated that Arsenal has stepped forward in the battle for the 21-year-old Brazilian.
Wenger also stated that forwards and midfielders Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires will definitely not leave the team.
"There are rumors that T. Henry may leave for -" said the Arsenal coach. "Of course, I know about it, but it's just talk and completely baseless rumors. He won't go anywhere."
"The same goes for Patrick and Robert - they will stay with us for the next season."
