Bruno Fernandes played his hundredth match in the Premier League during which he managed to make an assist and ultimately secure an important 2-1 victory with the Manchester United team.

After this victory, the Portuguese will soon travel to Qatar, where the World Cup will begin on November 20.

This weekend a considerable number of football fans protested against the World Cup in Qatar, especially in Germany. At that time, only a few footballers dared to speak out loud and openly about it.

Manchester United defender B. Fernandes had a strong opinion about this tournament: "The timing to play the World Cup is inappropriate, this applies to everyone. Children are in school, people are working. It will by no means be the best time for people to watch the matches.

"We have heard about the circumstances of this tournament in recent weeks and months, about people who died building stadiums. We are not satisfied with that," said the 28-year-old attacking defender.

"We want football to be for everyone, for everyone to be part of it, to get involved in the World Cup. After all, it is the World Cup - it is for everyone. No matter who. These things, I think, should never happen.

The World Cup is more than just football, it is a party for fans and players, it is a joy to watch. Such events should be organized better."

In Group H, Portugal will face Uruguay, South Korea, and Ghana teams.
