B. Gibsonas: The fall is the lowest point in my life

"Middlesbrough" yesterday lost 3-0 to the leader London "Chelsea" and finally lost hope of staying in the "Premier" league.

Steve Agnew's students broke into the top division under Aitor Karanka just last season, but will have to return to the "Championship" next season.

Club captain Ben Gibson described the season overall as the lowest point of his life.

"This is not just one bad night, this is the whole season," Gibson told Sky Sports. "We haven't been good enough from top to bottom. The players, the staff, myself."

"("Chelsea" - ed.) were better in every aspect. The result could have been 4-0, 5-0 or 6-0."

"It was the lowest point of my career. We must talk about it openly. Indeed, it was the lowest point of my life, not just my career. It means a lot."

"The fans never stopped singing. Wherever we were this season, they always remained the same. The fans deserve Premier League football, and we need to find a team that can provide that. We must look at what went wrong."

"Middlesbrough" currently have 28 points and are only ahead of "Sunderland", who have collected 24 points, in the league table.
