Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke" defender Benedikt Howedes is one step away from transferring to Turin's "Juventus," sources reported to Goal.com.
The 29-year-old footballer has also been linked with "Liverpool," but now it seems that he will move to Italy for 10 million euros.
About the interest shown by the Germans after the UEFA Champions League draw, the "bianconeri" executive director Giuseppe Marotta spoke.
"We are looking for a defender who can play both in the middle and on the side. Howedes? He is one of the options. Indeed, he is a bit more than just an option," said the head of "Juventus."
"However, we still need to discuss the conditions with the player and 'Schalke.'
Howedes spent his entire career at the latter club and played there since 2007."
