B. Howedes: "Real" is conquerable

UEFA Champions League quarterfinal draw brought together Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke" with Madrid's "Real", says German club defender Benedikt Howedes, that it is definitely possible to defeat last season's champions. Last year, both teams met at the same stage of the tournament, with the victory celebrated by the Spanish capital footballers with a total score of 9-2. However, Howedes believes that "Schalke" has already learned its lessons. "We know how painfully we lost last year. "Real" is one of the best teams in the world, but even such teams can be beaten," the German said after the draw ceremony. "We will do everything to challenge the champions." The defender was echoed by his team-mate Joel Matip, who said that "Real" is an amazing team, but anything can happen in two 90-minute football matches. Like Howedes, he also mentioned eagerly awaiting the match with the Spanish team and being ready not to repeat the same mistakes.
