B. Leno: I came to "Arsenal" because I hoped to play in every game

This summer, German national team goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who arrived at London's "Arsenal", is not entirely satisfied with life in the new team.

The "Gunners" laid out 22.5 million pounds sterling for the 26-year-old goalkeeper this summer, but he has not yet managed to compete with Petr Cech - the latter played in all English Premier League matches.

B. Leno only made his debut wearing the "Arsenal" shirt on Thursday. In the UEFA Europa League, "Arsenal" defeated "Vorskla", but the German goalkeeper had to pull the ball out of his net twice.

As the footballer himself claims, he joined "Arsenal" hoping to play in the Premier League, not the Europa League tournament.

"I came to this club to play in every match," the German said in an interview with "Standard". "Maybe I understand that it takes time when you move to a bigger club in a different country. Of course, I am somewhat disappointed, but I work hard and improve every day."

"The coach selects the starting lineup based on the players' performances. I think one day he may change his decision. He did not say that Peter will play in the league and I - in Europe. I need to work harder to earn more matches.

"I came to the Premier League because it is the best competition in the world. I can't wait to feel the football of this league," added B. Leno.
