"Liverpool" coach Brendan Rodgers is happy that team captain Steven Gerrard will agree to extend his contract with the team after twelve months expire.
"I am very happy that the midfielder will tie his future with the club. He looks great on the field and there is no need to delay with new contract offers," said the coach.
"Now Gerrard will be even fresher on the field, as he will no longer represent the England national team," Rodgers said.
It is reported that the veteran will sign a three-year contract and will earn 150,000 pounds sterling per week.
The 34-year-old Englishman has been representing the "Reds" since the 1998/1999 season."
