“Leicester City” on Monday secured their first victory of the season in the English Premier League, defeating “Nottingham Forest” 4-0 at home.

In this match, the foxes were led to victory by James Maddison, who scored two goals and has been in excellent sporting form recently.

Despite being one of the most prominent attacking midfielders in the Premier League for several seasons, J. Maddison has only played one match for the England national team so far.

Following the first season victory, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers spoke about it.

“I understand that it is difficult for the England national team coach to select a squad from so many top-class footballers. However, it is unfortunate that Maddison does not get his chances,”

“In the last 18 months, he has been one of the best English players. I think only Harry Kane has contributed more goals for England in this period than Maddison,”

“I am not saying he has to play in every match, but James should at least be in the national team squad. Furthermore, Maddison has the character which is crucial for national teams in football,” - explained B. Rodgers in conversation with Sky Sports.
