In the past, Josep Guardiola, who used to train the Munich "Bayern" team, did a disservice to all of German football.
This is the belief of the former well-known footballer from this country, Bastian Schweinsteiger.
According to the former player, the innovations introduced by J. Guardiola, which deeply rooted in the Bundesliga and the national team, are completely unsuitable for Germans.
"When the coach joined the 'Bayern' team, everyone tried to play the same type of football - with short passes, etc. We just lost our values.
I think that most other countries used to see Germany as a warrior, with its footballers able to run until the end of the match. Unfortunately, this strength has been lost over the past 7-8 years.
We forgot everything and now we focus on just passing the ball nicely among ourselves," said B. Schweinsteiger.
The German national team has not shone in international tournaments since 2016, when they managed to reach the semi-finals of the European Championship.
