Bernardo Silva's innocent post on social media could cost him a number of matches this season.
BBC reports that the FA has started an investigation into a possibly racist comment made by a footballer on Twitter. There is even talk of a ten-match suspension.
B. Silva, who scored his first career hat-trick in the match against Watford on Saturday, shared a childhood photo of Benjamin Mendy on his Twitter account on Sunday and compared it to the hero of the "Conguitos" chocolate candy package.

Portugal also wrote next to the photo: "Guess who this is?"
B. Mendy, upon seeing the post, did not take offense and simply wrote: "1:0 for you, but we'll see." It is likely that the footballers were just exchanging banter, but a significant portion criticized B. Silva and claimed it was a racist message.

B. Silva later deleted the controversial photo and wrote: "Can't even joke with a friend these days..."
B. Mendy and B. Silva are old acquaintances - both played for Monaco and arrived at Man City in the same year.
