The trauma-healing Germany national team defender Michael Ballack does not intend to give up the captain's armband.
The experienced footballer, who did not play in the World Cup, was replaced by defender Philipp Lahm. The 26-year-old player later stated that he would like to continue as captain.
But Ballack disagrees: "For me, there is no question for discussion. I am the captain.
"A footballer cannot demand to play in one position or another - the same goes for the captain's armband. He should respect that."
And he added: "I will talk to Philipp about it."
