The controversial striker Mario Balotelli apologized to his teammates for the red card he received in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 match against Kiev's "Dynamo".
In the first half, the Italian harshly brought down Goran Popov and left his team a man down. This was one of the reasons why the English club failed to overturn the two-goal deficit held by the Ukrainian side and only managed to secure a 1-0 victory.
"I am very sorry, especially to my teammates, that I was sent off in such an important match and so early," Balotelli said.
It was reported that, at the coach's decision, he will miss Sunday's game against Chelsea in London, but now "Man City" has confirmed that he may appear on the field.
"I always try my best. I definitely did not intend to harm Popov, even though my attempt was unsuccessful," he added.
