It is reported that in the new agreement, the Dutchman's salary "„will be more adapted to the current economic reality“". Some time ago, the 25-year-old midfielder was heavily pursued by the „Man Utd“ team, which offered as much as 80 million euros for the athlete. Nevertheless, F. de Jong decided to stay in the Barcelona team. The player's current contract with the „La Liga“ club is valid until the middle of 2026.
