"Barca" does not give up: they went to Amsterdam to meet with F. de Jong

Despite reports that sources close to the Paris club informed that Frenkie de Jong agreed with PSG, the final point regarding his acquisition is not yet settled.

"Mundo Deportivo" states that on Thursday, "Barcelona" traveled to Amsterdam, where they had planned a meeting with the player and his representatives.

All the key people of the Catalan club - Josep Bartomeu, Jose Segura, and Eric Abidal - arrived in Amsterdam.

"Barcelona" sought to convince the player to reject the PSG offer and come to "Barça" in the summer. It was reported that F. de Jong is not moving to "Barça" because he is unsure if he will become a starter, while PSG promised him that at the moment.

The source mentioned states that the "Barça" management presented F. de Jong with seven reasons why he should come to "Barça":

1) It is a club with deep traditions, unlike PSG;

2) Examples of Arthur and Clement Lenglet, who secured their place in the starting lineup in their debut season;

3) The Spanish "La Liga" championships are more competitive than "Ligue 1";

4) The opportunity to fulfill a dream - playing alongside Lionel Messi;

5) Easier chance to leave the team in case of an unsuccessful performance;

6) New stadium and historic location;

7) Continuity of Dutch football and "Barcelona" club traditions.
