When forming the team for the upcoming season, the Spanish giants club became interested in Bayern's midfielder Michael Ballack.
Barcelona has already made some changes: they did not renew contracts with four Dutch players - Kluivert, Overmars, Reiziger, Cocu, and with Turkish national team goalkeeper Rustu. The contract was extended with Gabri and also signed with Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.
It is also unclear whether Edgaras Davids will stay at Barcelona, so the club wants to strengthen the defensive line.
Ballack has a contract with Bayern for two more years, but the club president has stated that if the player is unhappy, he will be allowed to leave.
According to Ballack, he is unhappy due to criticism directed at him within the club.
