"Barcelona" club has decided to pay a compensation amount of 20 million euros to the "Valencia" team for the defender Jeremy Mathieu. The 30-year-old defender has been in the sights of the Catalan team's leaders for some time, but the requested amount by Valencia club has so far scared off potential buyers. However, led by Luis Enrique, the club has agreed to pay the requested amount and J. Mathieu may soon become a member of "Barcelona". The Catalan club has been looking to strengthen its defensive line for some time, and even greater gaps appeared in it this summer when Carles Puyol announced the end of his career. J. Mathieu would become the fifth purchase of "Barcelona" this summer. The team has already been supplemented by goalkeepers Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo, midfielder Ivan Rakitic, and forward Luis Suarez.
