"Barcelona" and "Athletico" Clash - Draw, "Real" Loses the First Points (VIDEO)

On Wednesday, five matches of the 5th round of the Spanish "La Liga" championship were played.

At the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, Madrid's "Real" team received their first lesson of the season from the "Villarreal" team. Despite dominating throughout the match, the "white" team played to a draw with the "submarines".

In the first half, "Real" failed to prove their superiority, and at the end of the half, they were punished for a defensive error. Raphael Varane lost the ball, and Sergio Ramos handled it in the penalty area, resulting in a successful penalty kick by Bruno.

The second half started well for the hosts - in the 48th minute, S. Ramos scored the equalizing goal. Throughout the remaining time, the "whites" created many dangerous opportunities.

Towards the end of the match, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata had good chances near the "Villarreal" goal. However, the "Real" team failed to achieve victory, ending their record-breaking streak of 17 consecutive wins.

The most interesting match of the round took place at the "Camp Nou" stadium, where Madrid's "Atletico" and "Barcelona" faced off. The title favorites did not take advantage of Real's draw and also shared a point.

In the first half, the Catalans played more aggressively, but it was approaching the end of the half when they managed to score the first goal. In the 41st minute, Ivan Rakitic scored with a great header to put the hosts ahead.

In the second half, the "Rojiblancos" were more active. Diego Simeone made two attackers - Fernando Torres and Andrea Correa - in the 60th minute. Less than a minute later, A. Correa took advantage of uncertain defending by Barca and equalized the score.

Both teams had their chances towards the end of the match. However, the spectators at the "Camp Nou" stadium did not witness a winning goal.

After 5 rounds, the standings in the "La Liga" championship remain unchanged - Madrid's "Real" leads with 13 points. "Sevilla" is in second, "Barca" in third, and "Atletico" in fourth position.
