In the Spanish "La Liga" championship on Saturday, four matches of the 27th round were played.
Before the important Champions League match, the Madrid "Atletico" team achieved victory at home. Diego Simeone's players showed superiority against "Leganes."
The "Rojiblancos" had to work hard for the victory, but the hosts had enough of one careless opponent's action in the penalty area.
In the 50th minute, a penalty kick was awarded to the "Leganes." Saul Niguez, who stepped up to take it, did not score with the first shot, but the ball comfortably bounced off the goalkeeper to the Spaniard, and he scored a winning goal with the second attempt.
The "Atletico," in second place, maintains a seven-point gap from the leaders.
At the "Camp Nou" stadium, "Barcelona" welcomed Madrid's "Rayo Vallecano." The visitors from Madrid made the Catalans nervous, but in the second half, the country's champions showed their superiority.
In the 24th minute, Raul de Tomas put "Rayo" ahead, but in the 38th minute, Gerard Pique equalized with a header.
In the second half, Lionel Messi scored from the penalty spot and put the Catalans ahead, and Luis Suarez secured the victory at the end of the match.
In other matches, "Eibar" and "Alaves" shared a point.
In the final match of the evening, Madrid's "Getafe" achieved another victory, allowing them to remain in the top four. "Getafe" defeated "Huesca" with a score of 2-1.
"Getafe" is only three points behind Madrid's "Real," however, the "white team" still has to play their matches.
