"Barcelona" president Sandro Rosell denied media reports that Cesc Fabregas cost the Catalan club 40 million euros. "No, we did not pay 40 million euros for Cesc. We paid 29 million. We had previously said that we would not pay more than 30 million right away, and that's what happened," said Rosell on Sunday evening, promising that all the transfer details would be made public later. On Monday, the details of the deal with "Arsenal" were revealed at a specially arranged press conference by Barcelona's vice president for sport, Josep Maria Bartomeu. According to one of the leaders of the Catalan club, Barcelona will pay 29 million euros for C. Fabregas: half of this amount will be transferred to "Arsenal" now, the remaining 14.5 million euros by the end of September. The contract also includes an additional payment of 5 million euros, which will be given to the "Arsenal" team if Barcelona becomes the Spanish champion twice (2 million euros each time) and wins the UEFA Champions League once (1 million euros). Another 5 million over five years will be paid by C. Fabregas himself to the "Arsenal" team for terminating his contract early. By the way, the newspaper "El Mundo Deportivo" reports that two "Barcelona" sponsors - "Qatar Foundation" and "Nike" - have already promised additional bonuses of 5 million euros to the Catalan club if the team wins the Champions League tournament. Fabregas signed a five-year contract with Barcelona, valid until the summer of 2016. It stipulates that the buyout for C. Fabregas is 200 million euros."
