"Barcelona" defender Douglas Pereira will miss the beginning of the season due to a painfully experienced serious injury.
This was revealed after the friendly matches with London's "Chelsea" played in the United States capital Washington on Wednesday night.
Right at the beginning of the match, in the 16th minute, the Brazilian defender was forced to leave the field due to a foot injury. Sergi Roberto continued the duel in his place.
Soon, a health check-up of the football player confirmed the initial skeptical diagnosis - Douglas was diagnosed with a trauma to the right Achilles tendon. The injury, according to the "Barcelona" medical staff, is classified as severe, so the defender will have to miss at least 8 weeks of football.
This means that the legionnaire of the Catalan club will be able to return to the matches only at the end of October.
