Perfectly fitting in the "Barcelona" team, Ivan Rakitić eagerly awaits his first El Clasico.
This summer, the Croatian national team midfielder, who moved from "Sevilla" to the Catalan club, will face his compatriot Luka Modrić in a face-to-face showdown on the field in Madrid this weekend.
"I am grateful to my teammates, coaches, managers, and fans. Without their support, it wouldn't have been so easy for me to fit into a new team. I came to "Barça" not only to help the team fight for victories but also to improve myself along with the players who have been playing here for a long time," the midfielder said.
The "Barcelona" player admits that the match against Madrid's "Real" is like a childhood dream come true for him.
"When I was little, I used to dream about it. Now my childhood dream is about to come true. I want to step onto the field and win. I will do everything to repay the team for the confidence they have shown in me," Rakitić assured ahead of El Clasico.
However, he noted that he prepares for the crucial match just like any other game: "Sometimes I even try to convince myself that it would be best not to think about such matches at all. The whole world will be watching them. You just need to step onto the field and do your job."
