On Sunday, four more matches of the 2nd round were played in the Spanish "La Liga" championship.
The most attention-grabbing match took place at the "San Mames" stadium, where Bilbao "Athletic" faced off against "Barcelona". After an intense battle, the hosts had to admit the minimal advantage of the Catalan team.
From the very first minutes, a fierce fight unfolded on the field. During the 90 minutes, the referee Lahoz showed a total of nine yellow cards to both "Athletic" and "Barcelona".
In the first half, both teams had opportunities to score. As usual, Barcelona held possession of the ball longer, and in the 21st minute, they scored the only and winning goal. After a brilliant pass from Arda Turan into the penalty area, Ivan Rakitic headed the ball into the opponent's net.
In the second half, Bilbao tried to equalize the score and came close to scoring several times. Marc-Andre ter Stegen played particularly unreliably with the ball, but the German later corrected his mistakes by responding to shots.
"Barca" also had their chances. Luis Suarez had a great opportunity to score towards the end of the match, but the Uruguayan lacked accuracy.
