"Barcelona" president Josep Bartomeu claims that Madrid's "Atletico" accusations in the Antoine Griezmann case are completely unfounded.
A. Griezmann has already joined the "Barcelona" team and has started preparing for the new season. However, the story did not end there - "Atletico" demands the activation of the 200 million euro buyout clause by July 1st, as they have evidence that "Barca" officially reached an agreement with the player during the season.
Nevertheless, J. Bartomeu claims that "Atletico's" reports of an agreement reached in March are false.
"I spoke with 'Atletico'," commented J. Bartomeu. "Their statement did not prove anything."
"I understand that 'Atletico' is defending their interests. We will see how everything ends, but in reality there is nothing to say in this case," continued the president.
Speaking about the team composition, J. Bartomeu said: "We want to have the best players in the team. We have a very competitive squad, with players who have already proven their worth and won a lot with the club.
Griezmann is joining the team at the perfect time. However, that does not mean that the strengthening of the team will end there."
