"Barcelona" striker Neymar disappointed Madrid "Atletico" fans. In the cup match in the Spanish capital, the footballer was booed, but the Catalan team advanced to the next stage after beating their opponents 3-2 (4-2 on aggregate).
The Brazilian, who scored two goals, later faced criticism for his behavior on the field from the opponents' player Gabi.
"It is not mandatory for everyone to like the same thing, but there is such a thing as respect," Neymar complained on social media.
After the match, Neymar was defended by "Barcelona" coach Luis Enrique.
"Neymar played as he always does. He gives a lot to the team and we can only praise him for his courage," Enrique said.
This season, the 22-year-old striker has scored 21 goals for "Barcelona" in 25 matches.
