"Barcelona" will not pursue the acquisition of J. Seri

Concentrating on the news about "Barcelona", portal Goal.com journalist Ignasi Oliva Gispertas reveals that the Spanish vice-champions will no longer seek to acquire "Nice" defender Jean-Michel Seri.

The Catalans had agreed on both the 40 million euro transfer fee and the personal contract with the footballer from the Ivory Coast, but decided to abandon the transfer.

The main reason for this is that the "Barca" management and coaching staff disagreed on whether the 26-year-old player is suitable for the team.

So, now it seems that the transfer will not happen and the Catalans will be able to increase their offers for Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, whom they are not willing to give up on.

Last season, Seri scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 34 "Ligue 1" matches, attracting the interest of London's "Arsenal" and "Tottenham".

The departure of the defender seems likely, as "Nice" failed to advance beyond the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers yesterday.
