Ibrahim Afellay is one step away from the most likely transfer to a club next January.
The sports director of Eindhoven's PSV team, represented by the Dutchman at the moment, Marcel Brands, confirmed that intensive negotiations are currently taking place. Barcelona's vice president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, specifically came to the Netherlands for them.
It is said that the Catalans agreed to pay around 3 million euros as compensation for Afellay. The amount, by today's standards, is not very large because the footballer's contract with PSV expires next summer and negotiations for its extension ended unsuccessfully.
