Basque clubs eliminated "Real" and "Barça" from the King's Cup tournament

On Thursday, two big sensations were recorded in the King's Cup quarterfinals - the two main contenders for the title ended their performances.

In the fight for a place in the semi-finals, Madrid's "Real" team lost in a seven-goal thriller to San Sebastiano's "Real Sociedad" team. The "Whites" even had a three-goal deficit twice, but managed to come back into the game and even level the score.

The visitors from San Sebastiano showed strength from the beginning and took the lead in the 22nd minute, when Martin Odegaard punished his own club playing on loan at "Real Sociedad."

The second half started catastrophically for the hosts - Alexander Isak scored two goals in two minutes and the visitors gained a convincing lead.

In the 59th minute, Marcelo managed to reduce the deficit and bring some hope, but "Real Sociedad" responded with another goal after ten minutes.

It seemed that the Madrid team had no chance, but the support of their fans helped them gain momentum and continue the fight. In the 81st minute, Rodrygo reduced the gap, and in the 93rd minute, Nacho's header brought real chances to fight for an equalizer.

The "Real" team still had a few minutes left to save the game, but the visitors withstood the pressure and secured a place in the semi-finals with an impressive performance.

In other matches, "Barcelona" also fell to the Basque club. Inaki Williams' goal in the 93rd minute gave Bilbao's "Athletic" team the victory.

There won't be any big names in the King's Cup semi-finals - besides "Real Sociedad" and "Athletic," "Granada" and "Mirandes" also made it through.
