On Sunday, the last two matches of the 14th round of the German Bundesliga were played.
The first match took place in Mönchengladbach, where the local team "Borussia" faced "Mainz". The only goal in this match secured the victory for the hosts.
In the 76th minute, the winning goal was scored by 20-year-old defender from Denmark, Andreas Christensen. "Gladbach Borussia" earned their 16th point in the tournament table and currently hold the 12th position.
In the other match, where Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke" faced Leverkusen's "Bayer", a hard-fought victory was achieved by Roger Schmidt's team at the end of the game.
"Bayer" gained a numerical advantage right at the end of the match - in the 4th minute, "Schalke" defender Naldo received a red card. However, it was not an easy game for "Bayer" in the opponents' field and the winning goal was scored by Stefan Kiessling only in the 89th minute.
"Bayer" is in 8th place in the German championship with 20 points. "Schalke", with one less victory, is content with a mid-table position.
