Next season, Leverkusen club will be coached by Robin Dutt, replacing the departing Jupp Heynckes.

Heynckes, who is linked with a move to Bayern Munich, decided not to renew his contract expiring this summer, so Bayer officials acted quickly and found a replacement for him.

"I am very much looking forward to this challenge and the opportunity to continue the work started by the current coach," said Dutt, who is currently in charge of Freiburg team. "I am united with the club officials by a common football philosophy."

In the German championship, Bayer is currently in second place, while Freiburg is in 8th position.
