This season, the Leverkusen team of "Bayer" pleasantly surprises their fans.
The German club has already managed to become the Bundesliga champion and still has a chance to win the Europa League trophy, with just two tournament stages left to overcome.
According to team director Simon Rolfes, in recent seasons, the newcomers who joined the team have particularly contributed to the great success.
"Which newcomer has had the greatest impact? The main position would be midfield, occupied by Granit Xhaka.
He is the heart of the game, and Granit controls the entire rhythm. Moreover, it is the most strategic position, i.e. how we will play in attack and defense. The midfielder undoubtedly connects the whole team," explained S. Rolfes.
G. Xhaka joined "Bayer" last summer, when the transfer fee was 25 million euros from London's "Arsenal".
