In the 30th minute, Victor Boniface put the visitors ahead. This was the only goal in the first half.

Werder equalized in the 74th minute with a precise shot from Marvin Ducksch. However, just three minutes later, home defender Felix Agu redirected the ball into his own net, and Bayer pulled ahead once again.
