On Tuesday evening, the first semifinal match of the German Cup took place, after which the first finalist was revealed. Leverkusen's "Bayer", playing at home, did not face much resistance from the fourth-tier German football team "Saarbrucken" and confidently secured a 3-0 victory to earn a ticket to the final. The visitors took the lead already in the 11th minute with a goal from Moussa Diaby, and in the 19th minute Lucas Alario doubled Bayer's advantage. Karim Bellarabi sealed Bayer's victory in the 58th minute. Leverkusen's opponent in the final will be revealed on Wednesday when Munich's "Bayern" and Frankfurt's "Eintracht" face off in the second semifinal.
