Munich's "Bayern" club director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists that the team has no intentions to sell striker Mario Mandžukić.
Speculation about the possible departure of the Croatian national team footballer has been growing, especially after it was announced that "Borussia" striker Robert Lewandowski will join the Bavarian team this summer.
However, the management of the Munich club continues to hold firm beliefs that both strikers can stay in the team and promises to offer the 27-year-old Croatian a new contract.
"We are satisfied with M. Mandžukić. He has exceeded all our expectations and we want him to stay in Munich," Rummenigge told the newspaper "BILD".
"We want to extend his contract and I don't think he will oppose it," the club director assured.
Mandžukić arrived at "Bayern" in the summer of 2012 after the European Championship. At that time, the Bavarians paid 13 million euros to "Wolfsburg" for the striker.
This season in the German Bundesliga, the Croatian scored 10 goals in 16 matches.
