"Bayern" found a scapegoat: the senior physician who had worked at the club for 38 years was fired

During the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, the Munich "Bayern" team, who suffered a painful defeat, found a scapegoat. After losing 1:3 to "Porto" in Portugal, the Bavarians let go of their head team doctor, Hans Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.

The specialist, who had spent 38 years at the Munich club, decided to resign. Along with him, the entire medical team left the "Bayern" camp.

The clear favorites, "Bayern," were forced to play in Portugal without the injured Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Medhi Benatia, Bastian Schweinsteiger, David Alaba, and Javi Martinez. The German champions, plagued by injuries, only reminded at the "Dragao" stadium of their own goal and were sent home empty-handed.

A day after the painful defeat, "Bayern" released a statement blaming the medical team for the failure.

The 72-year-old H.W. Muller-Wohlfahrt had been working at the club since 1977. In the past, the authoritative doctor also provided services to German tennis legend Boris Becker, sprinter Usain Bolt, British long-distance runner Paula Radcliffe, and the German national football team.

The conflict between the doctor and the team's head coach Joseph Guardiola worsened this year. A particularly heated incident occurred during the German Cup match against Leverkusen "Bayer" when the injured M. Benatia, angered Pep, demonstratively approached the team doctor and sarcastically gestured with his hands.

H.W. Muller-Wohlfahrt, known as the "doctor of stars" in the sports world, is a controversial figure. The specialist has been praised for his genius but has also received criticism for his methods. A conservative medical practitioner, he is fond of homeopathy and has been accused of using substances that are banned in some countries.

An angry J. Guardiola shouts at the team doctor:
