German champions Munich's club has issued an ultimatum to the relegated team, stating that they are awaiting a decision on the future of Lukas Podolski until the World Cup.
The "Köln" club is asking for ten million euros for L.Podolski, but the "Bayern" representatives do not agree with this offer and have reduced the proposed price to 7.5 million euros, adding that this is the final price they would pay for the player.
"The decision must be made before the start of the World Cup, on June 9," said Bayern's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to a German newspaper. "We will not wait forever for an answer. Lukas needs to know what's going on and play in the World Cup with a clear head. We will buy the striker in any case, as we have more options."
The twenty-year-old German has stated that he wants to join the Bayern club.
The relegation of the "Köln" club to a lower league has increased the player's desire to move to another club, but the Munich team could wait another year and acquire the player in June 2007 for just one million euros.
