In recent times, the situation within the ranks of Bundesliga champions is not the most pleasant, and players like Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski recently publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with what is happening in the team. "Bayern" legend Lothar Matthaus warned Carlo Ancelotti that if he does not take decisive action, chaos could soon prevail within the team.
The 3-0 victory against "Anderlecht" in the Champions League on Tuesday did not stop the criticism directed at the club, and even greater waves were brought by the defeat 0:2 against "Hoffenheim" last weekend. Internal conflicts also do not help the team, as R. Lewandowski and T. Muller recently publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the current situation within the team.
Initially, the Polish player complained that his teammates did not help him win the "golden boot" award last season, and recently expressed his anger that the club was too passive in spending money in the transfer market in the summer. Meanwhile, T. Muller spoke publicly about his dissatisfaction with his playing time, stating that he spends too much time on the bench.
After such statements from the players, L. Matthaus is convinced that C. Ancelotti must take action, and speaking to Bild, he stated that the coach should not be afraid to impose strict disciplinary measures on his players.
"We haven't seen such unrest in the 'Bayern' team for a long time. Things attempted in frustration are not working out as they should, so we cannot rejoice in the performances of this season.
Now C. Ancelotti must be strict. Stricter than the coach we have seen in the last year and a half. Otherwise, chaos will soon prevail within the team. However, I don't know if he is ready for that, or maybe he is already doing all of this within the team.
The coach must start serious conversations with his team. He must prepare them physically and also successfully integrate them into the playing system of the team. He must discipline his players and fight against anything that could hinder achieving the desired results. If necessary, he should not be afraid to even send some players to the stands," said L. Matthaus.
The next match for "Bayern" will be played on Saturday, at home against the "Mainz" team.
