"Bayern" Munich confirmed that they have signed the first professional contract with their U-19 team captain Lars Lukas Mai.
The young defender already made his debut in the main Bavarian team last weekend, when they defeated "Hannover" 3-0.
Now, the 18-year-old, who arrived in the ranks of the German champions in 2014, has tied his future with them until the summer of 2021.
"I am very happy about this great opportunity," Mai expressed his joy. "Playing for Bayern has always been my dream. Now I want to continue working hard and take the next steps in my career."
The club's sports director Hasan Salihamidžić also commented on the new contract.
"We are very pleased to have signed a contract with such a talented player as Lukas Mai," said the Bosnian.
"Lukas has already shown his potential in his debut against 'Hannover' and in numerous training sessions with both professionals and youth teams."
"We strongly believe in his abilities."
