Munich is preparing to submit an official offer to the Gelsenkirchen club for goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
The German national team player is linked with a move to Munich as he has decided not to extend his expiring contract with Schalke next year.
"So far, negotiations have not taken place, but now we will start them. We want to acquire Manuel, and where there is a will, there are possibilities," said Bayern president Uli Hoeness. "But we do not intend to pay an astronomical price."
