David Beckham hopes to return to the field on September 11 after a serious injury.
The 35-year-old veteran of the Los Angeles Galaxy club, who is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, was initially expected by doctors to sit out until the beginning of October.
"I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can return to the field for the match against Columbus Crew in September," Beckham said. "I will be on the bench and hope to play for 15-20 minutes."
A few days ago, England national team coach Fabio Capello reassured that there is a chance for Beckham to join the national team, despite previously ruling him out.
