Famous European clubs were planning to acquire London's "Arsenal" midfielder Mesut Ozil, but the deal fell through.
The World Champion decided to stay in England and a new contract with the "Gunners" team should be announced soon. The contract will be valid until the summer of 2021.
"Bild" reports that M. Ozil was actively sought after by three famous clubs - Paris "Saint Germain", "Man Utd", and "Barcelona".
The giants wanted to buy the 29-year-old player as early as January.
However, by staying in the ranks of "Arsenal", Ozil will not be penalized - he will receive £350,000 a week and become the highest-paid footballer in the club's history.
