The Belgian national football team is considered one of the favorites for the World Cup in Qatar.
Ranked second in the FIFA rankings, the team, which includes players from the golden generation, hopes to perform well in the Middle Eastern country.
However, just before the tournament, the Belgian football federation received some unpleasant signals in their country.
The Belgians set up an exclusive fan zone where World Cup matches were supposed to be broadcast on large screens.
However, seeing that fans were barely buying tickets priced at 10 euros, they decided to abandon this idea.
"When a large number of supporters could not travel to Qatar, we wanted to bring the World Cup to them.
But now it has become clear that ticket sales did not justify the effort, and events with big screens may be less popular than they used to be," explained federation representative Manu Leroy.
