The team's safety Hatem Ben Arfa suffered a broken leg during Sunday's Premier League match against Man City. The 23-year-old Frenchman was carried off the pitch on a stretcher already in the third minute of the match, when he was illegally and brutally tackled by Man City's defender Nigel de Jong. Immediately after that, the player was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that his leg was broken in two places. Today, the Frenchman should undergo surgery. It is not yet reported how long Ben Arfa will be out of play, but it is believed that it will take quite a while. It is worth noting that the midfielder joined Newcastle this season on loan from Marseille team.
