The future of Rafael Benitez at the Milan club is still unclear. Although rumors persist that the strategist has been fired, this news has not been officially confirmed yet.
Precision was avoided by president Massimo Moratti, who stated: "We want to understand what's happening, because now everything is very confusing. It's unexpected, but we are considering all possibilities."
Moratti assured that an official club announcement should not be expected on Wednesday.
Despite the Italian team winning the World Club Cup last weekend, Benitez surprised Moratti by stating that there are now two options - either he stays with the team and it is strengthened, or the contract is terminated.
It seems that the second option will be attempted, but there are difficulties regarding the compensation for contract termination, which could amount to around 8 million euros.
