For the seventh time, Dimitar Berbatov, chosen as the best Bulgarian footballer of the year, jokingly said he is tired of this award, so he asks not to vote for him in the future.

"I would like younger guys to win the award," said the 29-year-old footballer, chosen as the best by the country's sports journalists. "Please, don't vote for me anymore."

Berbatov is the all-time top scorer for the national team with 48 goals, but in May, due to fatigue and a desire to be with his family, he ended his international career.

He also stated that he would like to represent the "Man Utd" club for the rest of his career: "I fought hard to get the chance to represent such a team, so leaving it would be a step back. Why should I do that? I better retire."

In second place was Gaziantepspor striker Ivelin Popov, and in third was Twente goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov.
