President Unal Aysal of Istanbul has confirmed that the club is interested in acquiring forward Dimitar Berbatov.
The 30-year-old Bulgarian is playing a bit-part role in England this season and will become a free agent next summer.
"Yes, but we are considering several candidates for the forward position, it is too early to talk about it," Aysal said. "We have to wait until the end of December."
In the Premier League, Berbatov has played 5 matches this season, starting only one of them, and has not scored any goals.
