According to media reports in Turkey, Istanbul club has decided to dismiss Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque due to the team's unsuccessful results.

Last June, after Istanbul team's coach Mircea Lucescu resigned and moved to another job, Del Bosque received an offer from Besiktas. He then signed a multimillion-dollar two-year contract with the club and brought in his assistants.

However, after just eight months of working in Turkey, V. Del Bosque has not been successful. In the country's championship, Besiktas is currently in fifth place, trailing the league-leading Fenerbahce by 14 points after the winter break. Additionally, Besiktas withdrew from the UEFA Cup after losing to the "Parma" team in the last group stage match.

It is believed that the club's management ran out of patience after the cup match last weekend, where Besiktas lost 1-3 to "Konyaspor" and ended their participation in the tournament. Although club representatives refused to comment on the matter, it is likely that the vacant coaching position will be offered to Riza Calimbay from "Rizespor".

A couple of years ago, V. Del Bosque was dismissed from his coaching position at another club. He has won the Champions League and the Spanish championship twice with a royal club. In early January, there were reports in the Spanish press that Del Bosque might move to coach "Deportivo" in La Coruna, which is performing poorly this season.
