The best player for the month of January was Tottenham defender Dele Alli. The 20-year-old Englishman surpassed his teammate Harry Kane, Alex Sanchez (Arsenal), Seamus Coleman (Everton), and Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea) in the battle for the best player of the month award.
D. Alli scored five goals in January and contributed the most to Tottenham's successful run.
The best coach of the month was recently appointed Swansea head coach Paul Clement. The Englishman, who had been Carlo Ancelotti's assistant for many years, helped the "Swans" navigate through a rough patch.
Under P. Clement's leadership, Swansea earned nine out of 12 possible points in January.
