This year, the head coach of Sevilla, who is at the bottom of the table in the poorly performing Spanish championship, became Luis Fernandez.

The 47-year-old coach, who will replace Javier Irureta in this position, will be officially introduced on Thursday during lunch.

The Frenchman has coached teams such as Paris Saint-Germain, Espanyol from Barcelona, and Athletic Bilbao during his coaching career. The players under his leadership at PSG became the winners of the UEFA Cup in 1996.

This year, the struggling Betis players are currently in eighteenth place out of twenty teams in the tournament.

In the summer, J.Irureta, who took over the reins at Betis, left the club after 15 matches, of which they won only three.

In addition to L.Fernandez, the Andalusian club was also linked with former French national team coach Jacques Santini and former club sports director Faruk Hadžibegić.
