On Thursday, the organization "Federbet," which monitors betting violations, submitted a report to the European Parliament on suspicious betting cases and fixed matches.
It is reported that as many as 110 fixed matches have been recorded in Europe, including several UEFA Champions League tournament matches. Violations were reported at the qualification stage for the elite tournament on the Old Continent.
In addition to the recorded violations in Italy, France, England, and Portugal, there are suspicions of at least 350 matches that may have been fixed.
The general secretary of "Federbet," Francesco Baranca, stated: "Every day, matches are being sold all over the world. This virus is spreading rapidly."
"This problem can be solved quite easily, but the federations do not listen to us, UEFA does not listen to us," Baranca added.
Baranca also claimed that the upcoming World Cup could become a target for those looking to profit from selling matches.
"When you learn how to cheat on the local level, it's not difficult to transfer your business to international waters," Baranca said.
